The "Small Tree Farm"in Balingup is a family farm that has been a tree planting hub for three decades. Every winter its tree nursery produces a crop of bare-rooted deciduous ornamental trees suitable for South-West plantings. The farm is also known for its interest in fire retardant trees, its eucalypt sawlog research programme and for innovative integration of permaculture species into agriculture.

One of the most established Permaculture properties in the State, in evolution since the early 1980s. Activities include bamboo nursery and plantation, organic fruit and nut orchard, property tours and consultancy. A chinampa, woodlot, wildlife corridor, home vege gardens and poultry are included in the system. Property tours and bamboo sales by appointment only.
